Bespoke Cold Room — Custom Dimensions and Options

For when the 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 m³ catalogue isn't enough. Free choice of volume from 5 m³ to 200 m³, dimensions to the centimetre, dual- or triple-zone layouts and advanced technical options. Our design office sizes it, you approve it, the factory builds it.

Bespoke Cold Room — Custom Dimensions and Options

Bespoke is neither a luxury nor a pricing trap. On certain configurations — awkward dimensions imposed by the site, architectural constraints, a non-standard dual-zone layout — a less suitable catalogue format actually costs more in the long run, through energy use, product losses or compensating works. Bespoke quotations are turned around within 48 working hours by our design office.

What can genuinely be configured

Volume and external dimensions (to the centimetre). Internal partitioning (single, dual or triple zone). Door type and quantity (hinged, sliding, strip curtain). Flooring (T-floor, power-floated concrete, food-grade anti-slip). Insulation (100, 120, 150 or 180 mm). Controls (standard Dixell, or Carel/Eliwell for BMS integration). Lighting (standard IP65 LED, or IP69K for high-pressure washdown). Shelving (galvanised steel, stainless, food-grade plastic). Options: thermal airlock, strip curtain, humidifier, blast chiller, GSM/IoT remote monitoring.

A typical bespoke process

Step 1 (day 0): you complete the enquiry with the intended use, target volume and site constraints. Step 2 (days 1–2): our design office proposes one or two sized configurations with 2D drawings and an itemised quotation, ex VAT. Step 3 (days 3–10): we iterate on the configuration (changes, additions, removals). Step 4: order confirmation plus a 50% deposit. Step 5: factory production (8–10 weeks) + transport (4–5 weeks) + delivery + (where applicable) on-site charging by a certified F-Gas engineer.

The 20 m³ (roughly 700 cu ft) is our best-seller. It has the capacity for a wholesale butcher, an active hunting syndicate, a mid-sized restaurant or a market garden handling post-harvest stock. Pre-charged with R290, 100 mm PIR insulation, 400 V three-phase. This is the format where the cost per m³ is at its best.

30m3 Cold Room — The Limit of R290 Pre-Charge

30 m³ (roughly 1,060 cu ft) is the boundary of our pre-charged R290 catalogue. It is the format for farms handling post-harvest stock, caterers with large seasonal volumes, wholesale butchers and shared hunting estates. Above this point we switch to empty delivery, with the unit charged on site by a certified F-Gas engineer.

40 m³ of usable space (roughly 1,410 cu ft) on an ISO 40-foot frame. Aimed at food manufacturers, large producers and logistics platforms. Always delivered empty, then charged on site by a certified, Category I F-Gas engineer (R290 or R744, depending on the specification).

Questions fréquentes

Is there a premium for going bespoke?

Not as a rule. On certain unusual configurations (dimensions outside factory standards, reinforced insulation, several zones), the premium can reach 15–25%. On others (a catalogue volume with a simple partition change), it is neutral. Our quotation always sets out the difference against the closest catalogue format, so you can decide with full information.

Can the configuration be changed after delivery?

Yes for the removable elements: internal partitions (where eccentric), shelving, electronic options (controls). No for the structural elements: external volume, wall insulation, door positions. If you anticipate a change in 2–3 years, build it in at the initial quotation stage — it costs less to design in the flexibility now than to adapt later.
